Our Club has met the 'one tree per Rotarian' challenge from Rotary International President Ian Risely and District Governor Bruce Lynch. Esther, Donna, Rod and I, and our two Exchange Students, attended the KBULG tree planting day on Sunday 30 July. Trees were planted on behalf of every member of our Club. Boulder and Hannans Rotarians were there too. Boulder Club donated $1,500 to pay for the seedlings. In less than 1.5 hours there were 3,000 trees planted.

On Saturday 29 July, Donna, Gavin and Anne took our Exchange Students, Antonio and Madison and their host families all the way to Gwalia and also to Niagara Dam. They enjoyed seeing the historic buildings in the ghost town and also the magnificent house that was built for Herbert Hoover and is now a guest house. The mine was interesting too.

The District 9465 details are as follows:

Date:   31 March to 02 April 2017
Venue: Fremantle Sailing Club

This provides a fantastic opportunity to meet and socialise with fellow Rotarians from across our District which basically covers southern WA and see the wonderful work that Rotary does in the wider community.
There is the usual District Business sessions (which all are welcome to attend), and then social events Welcome Sundowner (Friday Night), District Governor's Gala Dinner (Saturday Night); and what ever you arrange with Rotarians you meet. For those of you more familiar with District Conference there is no partners program this year as Fremantle offers various and plentiful options for everyone to explore.

I have attached the registration and information link.  Registrations are now open.
